| Government Primary School Turga in Panchari area has no building to accommodate students | | |  Arun Jasrotia

UDHAMPUR, Apr 28: Several government-run schools in this district are facing acute shortage of infrastructure, taking a toll on students' education and putting a question mark on Department of Education claims of providing education in even remotest corners of the state.
Students of the government Primary School at Turga village in Block Panchari of district udhampur are forced to study under the open sky in the absence of classrooms. The school, was established in 1999, but till date no building has been constructed.
There are 50 students enrolled in said school and they suffer badly as they sit under open sky during heat. Some people leave their villages and migrants to other places for the want of education for their kids as the school is without building.
"We are disappointed to see the students sitting on ground in open despite winter or summer season but we don't have any option. I have written to senior officials to arrange the school building for students, but in vain," said Jagdish Chander, said a school teacher.
He said that during adverse weather condition such as rains, students are asked to go homes, he added. He appeal to the Governor to arrange the school building facilities .
Pawan Kumar Sarpanch Kutyar Balla said that the construction work of school building began in 2007 but only after plinth the construction work leave abdomen its very unfortunate that after 20 years the school without building how they get proper education he added he appeal to the Governor that instruct the department and construct the school building as the earliest so the student's get proper education inside classrooms.
Chief Education officer Udhampur Daljeet Singh said that we instructed the concerned ZEo's to submitt an detail reports about the schools who don't have buildings and very soon we would submit DPR to the Higher authorities and soon the student's get new school building he added. |
