Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 28: BJP which is contesting three seats in Kashmir Valley could not hold an election rally in Kulgam district on Saturday.
The BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav who addressed a poll rally at Khanabal Anantnag instead of Kulgam town was advised by authorities not to take risk of visiting Kulgam in view of volatile situation there.
This has simply shown that how grave the ground situation in Kashmir Valley is. This has also exposed BJP as well it's national general secretary Ram Madhav in charge Kashmir that situation is returning to normal in the Valley.
When the political party cannot not hold rally in the town which is going to poll due to security reasons how BJP can claim situation is limping to normalcy. This is a million dollar question?
"BJP could not hold a rally in Kulgam can it hold in the twin districts of Shopian and Pulwama a hot bed of terror,?" asked analyst.
Keeping in view the prevailing law and order situation in three districts, the Election Commission of India (ECI) conducted the elections in Anantnag Lok Sabha constituency comprising Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian and Pulwama districts in three phases. While elections in Anantnag were held on April 23, on April 29 elections will be held in Kulgam while twin districts of Pulwama and Shopian will go to polls on May 6.
