Bhangran to Barri road in poor condition, people facing hardships

Doda, June 10: Bhangran to Bari link road connects the area with outside world. The said road is under construction for six years.
Moreover the material used in construction of road is substandard which poses a threat for people travelling through this road. The road is being constructed by PMGSY department, which has been failed to perform quality work in construction of major projects, as most of road constructed by them are worth nothing.
Contractors dealing with construction work of said road are also found involved in misusing the funds released in this regard, by using substandard material and working loosely which adds miseries to the life of common people.
As revealed by the locals of area, the material used in construction of the road is highly substandard; the money released by PMGSY has been withdrawn by contractors leaving the welfare of common masses aside. They appealed the authorities of PMGSY several in this regards but they paid no heed.
A local while speaking to Early times alleged that, the construction works of this road had been started six years ago but no progress has been made by PMGSY till yet, due to which people residing in this backward area are suffering a lot. He further alleged that they are ready to approach the Governor in near future as the local authorities are taking the matter loosely, Ex Sarpanch Fiaz Ahmed Wani said.
