Early Times Report
Jammu, July 3: Strongly criticising State Administration for effecting schedule and unscheduled power cuts, the Traders Federation Ware House-Nehru Market, Jammu has demanded to improve the electricity supply system.
In a meeting of the Federation held today under the leadership of Rattan Lal Mahajan, President, the business crises arisen due to power curtailment were discussed. General Secretary Deepak Gupta on this occassion said that immediately after the Darbar Move from winter capital here, the PDD authorities have commenced unscheduled power curtailment. He said the supply position was good when the winter secretariat was here. He said power supply is the basic need of the trader and power curtailment is effecting their daily routine work. He urged the Honb'le Governor Sh. Satyapal Malik to ensure better supply of electricity to the only and biggest wholesale market in Jammu, as traders of this market are contributing in better way towards the revenue being generated on account of electricity or other taxes.
He said that the GST is implemented in our State and e-way billing is compulsory for doing business but due to often power cuts and low voltage, shopkeepers are unable to generate e-way bill and because of this, the business in this wholesale mandi comes to stand still.
Because of the voltage fluctuation, our computers, printers and other electronic gadgets are damaged.
He further request to ensure the regular power supply to the market from 11 AM to 8PM to avoid disruption in the business activity as the whole business activities are now based on computer system such as issuance of GST Bills, e-way bills and other billings of the sold commodities. He urged the Honb'le Governor to intervene and give some relief to business community, specially the traders of Ware House-Nehru Market Jammu.
