| Erratic water, power supply irk Jagti camp dwellers | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 27: Though rains brought a little respite from scorching heat and humid weather which lashed across the Jammu region yet the supply of drinking water and power supply remain erratic to Jagti camp which irk the camp dwellers sources said here today.
Residents of Lane No 8 and 7 of the camp lambasted at Relief authorities that their transformer has gone out of order but nobody bothered to make necessary repairs on it.The residents of these lanes have been reeling under complete darkness but no measures have been taken to repair the transformer alleged the residents, despite surplus field and casual staff the issue remains nobody's baby, they added.
While talking to EarlyTimes social activist Sunil Pandita alleged that due to poor water supply to the camp people have to suffer a lot in these hot and humid days because after a gap of four to five days water supply is being restored for reasons better known to concerned authorities. He said we fail to understand when Government spends lakhs of rupees over its maintenance then why supply is not proper remains unanswered question.
He said even the blue eyed incharge of community halls in the camp donot deliver properly. They keep their mobile phones on switch off mode when we require community hall for mourning purposes. They have become just like owners of these halls and issue to.people at their will whom soever they like.Such incharge people should be made understand that these community halls should be provided to those families on priority who needed to use them for mourning purposes, he added. |
