Dulloo asks for fast pacing establishment of Integrated Hospitals, HWCs

JAMMU, Dec 27: Financial Commissioner, Health and Medical Education, Atal Dulloo, today chaired the 10th meeting of the Executive Committee of AYUSH Society of Jammu and Kashmir. The FC issued a string of directions to the concerned officers for effective implementation of various programmes and schemes under National Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa Rigpa and Homeopathy (AYUSH) Mission in J&K.
The meeting, held here at the Civil Secretariat, was attended by Director Indian System of Medicine, J&K, Dr Mohan Singh; Director Finance, Health and Medical Education, Mohammad Rafiq; Joint Director Planning HME, Madan Lal and other officers.
The FC reviewed the progress on establishment of 50-bedded Integrated Hospitals, each at Kishtwar, Kupwara, Billawar (Kathua) and Kulgam under National AYUSH Mission (NAM) and directed the officers to expedite the construction work on the buildings. He directed the officers to focus on the core strengths of the department for effective delivery of health care services.
Director ISM, J&K informed the meeting that work on the four hospitals is at various stages of development.
Regarding the work on the Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs), FC directed to expedite the process of their establishment on war footing basis. The Nodal Officers were tasked with the responsibility of effective implementation of the scheme.
Regarding the implementation of Public Financial Management System (PFMS), Director ISM was directed to ensure proper implementation of the same for NAM and operate the funds as per the existing procedure. The FC also directed that the funds under NAM should be utilized effectively in a time bound manner. The FC directed the AYUSH Society to frame a comprehensive road map for propagating various programmes and schemes for the benefit of the people.
The FC was informed that AYUSH Society of J&K is sensitizing the AYUSH staff i.e. AYUSH medical officers and pharmacists regarding the implementation of AYUSH activities under NAM at the grassroots level.
It was further said that department is organizing orientation programmes for upgradation of the skills of Medical and Paramedical Staff and plans to hold awareness cum medical aid camps for the general public across Jammu and Kashmir.
