Early Times Report

Sunderbani, Dec 27: Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) held a meeting of DP’s of 1947 from POK at Dak Banglow, Sunderbani.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Kishori Dutt and Shiv Ram both Sarpanch. The DP’s of the adjoining villages participated and sought acceptance and implementation of Joint Parliamentary Committee on Home Affairs Report No. 183, which recommended urgent payment of Rs. 30 lacs as ex-gratia relief to each DP’s family till the Govt. of India ascertains value of their left out properties in POK.
They appealed Member Parliament and Lieutenant Governor to stress upon the Central Govt. for early acceptance and implementation of J.P.C. Report which ensures payment of Rs. 30 lacs as relief to each DP’s family till the value of their left over properties is assessed by Govt. of India.
He said that onus now lies on State Leadership of B.J.P. and their MP’s to take up the one time settlement issue of DP’s seriously with Lt. Governor Murmu as well as Central Govt. as they were given the massive mandate by DP’s along with other people of the region.
He said that hope had generated among DP’s after the State B.J.P came into the power that their issues would be projected to Central Govt. for final settlement as per commitments made with DP’s for number of times by the Senior Leaders of Party. But it looks that the DP’s hopes are not being taken into consideration despite of many representations in person made to both the MP’s, they didn’t show any concern towards their legitimate issue of one time settlement and as such it looks that they have taken DP’s for granted like Congress Party, which has caused immense resentment and mistrust among DP’s.
