Div Com reviews Republic Day arrangements

JAMMU, Dec , 27: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the arrangements being put in place for ensuing Republic Day celebration.
Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Tahir Firdous , Director, School Education, Anuradha Gupta, Secretary, Sports Council, Naseem Choudhary, Joint Director Information, Naresh Kumar besides senior officers of Police, Army, CRPF, PHE, PDD, PWD, JMC, Health Services, Fire services, Education, Cultural Academy, Youth Services and Sports and other concerned departments attended the meeting.
The Div com took a comprehensive review of arrangements being made and stressed on better synergy between the concerned departments for the smooth conduct of the National event.
During the meeting a threadbare discussions were held on printing of invitation cards, contingents, cultural Items, Display of Tableau, Transportation, sanitation and cleanliness, face lifting and the concerned officers were directed to put in place requisite arrangements for smooth conduct of celebration.
Divisional Commissioner exhorted upon all concerned officers to ensure that all necessary arrangements are put in place well in time for smooth and successful celebration of the Republic Day. Necessary directions were issued for printing of Invitation cards, selection of cultural programmes, rehearsals, transportation facilities for participants.
Later, the Divisional Commissioner convened a meeting to review the land acquisition cases of major road projects.
The Div Com sought case wise details of land acquisition, tree felling and structure removal cases of major road projects including Udhampur- Cheneni, Nashri to Banihal, Jammu -Akhnoor road, Chenani -Sudmahadev and other roads. The concerned officers apprised the Div Com about the present status of each case. The Div Com directed the concerned officers to speed up the process of land acquisition, structure removal and tree felling for better execution of road projects.
The meeting was attended by Chief Conservator of Forest, ACR Jammu, ADC Ramban besides senior functionaries of NHAI, NHIDCL, SFC and other concerned departments.
