Jammu, Dec 27: Abdul Samad, who was sold in upcoming IPL season, scored a quick 103 runs in 72 balls on the third day of the Ranji Match against Assam here at the Govt. Gandhi Memorial Science College ground as Jammu and Kashmir team declared on 460 runs.
While as bad lights continued to spoil the Ranji game on the third consecutive day with just 47 over's bowled today. Team Assam scored 22 runs in seven over's in response to Jammu and Kashmir's score of 460 runs and trail by 438 with one day left in the game.
Jammu and Kashmir added 250 runs to overnight score of day 2. It was the inning of Shubham Khajuria which set the tone for host J&K. Khajuria scored 138 runs in 180 balls hitting all over the ground. Henan Nazir also joined the party scoring 62 runs in 92 balls. Abdul Samad played a memorable knock. He started hitting all the bowlers and added 103 runs in quick session. He remained not out on 103 score after Jammu and Kashmir team declared on 460 runs for the loss of five wickets.
The declare from the Jammu and Kashmir came in wake up of bad lights affecting the match for consecutively two days and also on the third day of the match. If Jammu and Kashmir wins to bundle out Assam fewer than 200 runs and secure first inning lead than J&K will get 6 points over first inning leads. For Assam, al the bowlers were expensive Arup conceded 111 runs and took one wicket, Roshan Alam took three runs giving 109 runs in 18 over's and Riyan Parag had one wicket. Earlier, Only 18 over's bowled on the first day of the match with Jammu and Kashmir 59 runs. Toss was won by Assam and opted to bowl first. While, on day 2, only 34 over's were bowled whole day of the Ranji Match with J&K team scoring 210 runs for the loss of 2 wickets.
Jammu and Kashmir team had defeated Uttarakhand by 253 runs in the first match Abhimanyu Cricket Academy, Dehradun. While in the second match Jammu and Kashmir had won the game in the last day thriller against Maharashtra at MCA Cricket Stadium, Gahunje, Pune. Jammu and Kashmir is currently placed 4th in Elite Group C with 12 points in 2 matches.
