Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 2: J&K United School Teachers Association (USTA) held a press conference by Rajeev Kumar and Hari Singh Provincial President And General Secretary Respectively and highlighted their demands.
The demands which were discussed in the press conference included release salary of Head Teachers for the month of Dec.2017,Jan- Feb. 2018 and RReTS for Feb 2018 and arrear of of 7th pay commission including DA arrear in their favour, release grant to clear 20 to 25 months pending salary of RReTs regularized during the year 2014 to 2018, modify suitably hard hit cases of Masters in recent transfers, transfer all teachers, masters and lecturers who have completed their tenure of 2-7 years in far flung areas as well as out of districts by adopting transparent and norm based transfer policy, regularize all Incharge Lecturers, Headmasters, ZEOs and Principals, regularize all RReTs\EVS who have completed 5 years service, regulate In-Situ promotions in favour of under graduates teachers appointed between 1992-1997, adjust all newly promoted lecturers at an earliest and a accord charge allowance in their favour, fill vacant post of Masters, Headmasters, ZEO, Lecturers and Principals by DPC, start pre-primary classes in all schools with infrastructure, stop NPS and restore Old Pension Scheme.
While address the media persons leaders expressed their great concern over the lackadaisical and non-serious attitude of authorities towards these just and genuine demands of teaching community. It is highly deplorable that salary of large section of teaching community is inordinately delayed. In some cases wages of Masters have not been released for the month of Dec 2017,Jan-Feb 2018, more so salary of RReTS regularized during 2014-18 for the period of 22-25 months has not been released under reasons best known to the authorities concern. There cannot be any cruel joke other than denying salary for 2 years without specifying any reason thereof.
