Workshop on MOOC continues at GCW Parade

JAMMU, Jan 16: The five days workshop on MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses), over the theme design development and delivery of e-content to train the trainers (tot) continued at at Govt. College for Women Parade for the second day.
Principal Prof (Dr.) Chander Shekhar while inaugurating the workshop welcomed the participants and stressed upon the importance of e learning in the contemporary educational pedagogies.
Dr. J.N .Baliya, Head & Associate Professor, Department of Education, Central University of Jammu was the resource person on day one of the workshop. He apprised the participants about the various Digital initiatives of GOI in Higher Education.
Prof. Baliya encouraged the participants to build OPEN content which is usable by all and emphasized on non-violation of copyright act and discouraged plagiarism. During the sessions, he enlightened all on various Open Educational Resources (OER) that could be adapted in designing the courses in order to make it interesting and easier for students to comprehend.
All the sessions of the day were highly interactive as all the queries of 45 enthusiastic participants from different colleges of J&K were satisfactorily sorted by the resource persons.He concluded his session with the promise that in the upcoming sessions each participant will be enabled to open their accounts on modle cloud and learn the art of designing e-courses.
