Will Bukhari led Group get one more shot in arm?

Early times report

Jammu, Jan 16: Among the five political detainees set free on Thursday by the Jammu and Kashmir government, one is the senior PDP rebel, raising eye brows what his next move could be.
As per the reports, the Jammu and Kashmir government set free five political detainees on Thursday- three hailing from National Conference and two from the PDP. Among the two PDP leaders, one as per the sources is much annoyed and disgruntled with his party and was already waiting in wings to bid adieu to it. Now when free, speculations are rife that the rebel in question is all set to join his colleagues which at present are in the tent erected by Altaf Bukhari. There are even rumours that during detention this leader was approached by the Bukhari led group that persuaded him to join the new political front.
Back in the year 2018, this PDP rebel in question in open objected to party’s decision of boycotting the ULB polls.
The PDP leader had then said that it was becoming increasingly necessary that both PDP and NC as also other pro- Kashmir parties do more for a result-oriented exercise that helps to pre-empt impositions against the Kashmir cause and its constitutional guarantees.
As the speculations about the formation of the 3rd front are rife, Bukhari’s delegation had six active PDP leaders who met the Governor on Tuesday and sought restoration of statehood and domicile rights to the citizens of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. Bukhari, as per the reports was accompanied by Ghulam Hassan Mir (President Democratic Party Nationalist), Mohammad Dilawar Mir (Former Minister), Zaffar Iqbal (Former MLC), Javed Hassan Beig (Former MLA), Noor Mohammad Shiekh (Former MLA), Choudhary Qamar Hussain (Former MLA) and Raja Manzoor Ahmad (Former MLA).
Later, PDP expelled all its leaders who accompanied Bukhari to meet the envoys and Lt Governor. The party said that the leaders acted against the stand of the party and that the disciplinary committee decided to expel them henceforth.
Later on, two PDP leaders resigned from the party’s basic membership, expressing resentment over the way the leaders who accompanied Bukhari were expelled by the party.
On the other hand, PDP Patron Muzaffar Beigh too look annoyed over the functioning of his party. In a recent presser, this PDP veteran indirectly held Mehbooba Mufti responsible for using instigative statements on 370, provoking GOI to revoke JK’s special status.
