31st road safety week concludes in Rajouri

RAJOURI, Jan 16: 31st Road safety week today concluded on a high note in District Rajouri. The valedictory function was attended by Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Nazir Sheikh, Senior Superintendent of Police Yougal Manhas, Assistant Commissioner Revenue ,Mohd Ashraf Deputy Director planning,Bilal Mir, District Panchayat Officer, Dr Abdul Khabir,State taxes Officer,Ashiq Rafiq Malik, District information officer Rajouri, Narinder Raina, Assistant Regional Transport OfficerInzar Ahmed Rana MVD inspector Rajeev Bhasin and officials of MVD Rajouri
A debate competition was also organised on the valedictory function. More than 20 students of the different Institutions of District Rajouri participated in the event and expressed their views and facts on road safety. The Road Safety Week programme was started in January, 1. The programme was targeted at improving road Safety awareness amongst all stakeholders in the district.The theme for this year's road safety week celebration was 'Sadak Suraksha, Jeevan Raksha'. While speaking on the occasion, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Mohd Ashraf said,the aim of the Road Safety Week was to make aware the citizens towards traffic rules and decreasing the number of accidents, deaths and injured in Rajouri district. He also congratulated the students who have participated in the debate competition. He said the students can help the Administration in percolating the message of Road safety through peer group interactions.
