KATHUA, Jan 16: A team of Legal Metrology Department conducted thorough inspection of companies dealing with Cement trade and Edible oils to ensure that the tax reduction price benefit must reach to the ultimate consumers due to abolishment of Toll plaza at Lakhanpur.
The team inspected the CFA's of M/S Ambuja Cement Ltd at Kunjwani of M/S ACC Ltd at Narwal and of M/S JK wall putty at Trikuta Nagar extension.
During inspection it was found that the companies have not taken steps to lower the MRP's of cement bags and accordingly sale of all the deceptive bags were stopped and the management of the respective companies were put on notice for the violation of the provisions of the Legal Metrology Laws as the benefit of Rs 64 per bag of 50kg of cement must pass on to the consumers by lowering the MRP.
