DC Kathua reviews arrangements of IPPI

KATHUA, Jan 16: Deputy Commissioner Kathua, O P Bhagat, today convened a meeting to review arrangements for smooth conduct of Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization programme in the district.
The meeting was informed that the anti-polio drive will be carried out in the district on 19 January, 2020 in which 101534 children upto 5 years of age will be administered polio vaccine. It was also informed that 580 vaccine booths have been established across 5 medical blocks of the district with a deployment of 2320 officials, besides 8 mobile teams, 14 transit teams, 116 supervisory staff and collaboration of teachers and 30 mobile team members will be utilized for proper execution and monitoring of the immunization process.
DC stressed that no child is left out from the immunization process. He laid focus on covering identified high risk areas especially areas concentrating labor class populace. It is collective responsibility of all stakeholders to help in achieving 100% target so to keep polio at bay in the district, DC added.
DC further appealed to the general public to ensure each and every child of the age up to 5 years is given Pulse Polio drops at the Pulse Polio Booth or transit points so that safe and healthy future of our children can be ensured.
Later, a sensitization program for RBSK Doctors, BMOs, Para Medical Staff and mobile team members was also organized in which TB elimination strategy was discussed threadbare so as to wipe out this disease completely from our country by 2025.
It was also discussed in the meeting that PRIs, Private Practioners, NGOs and every stakeholder of the community must be involved for completely eliminating TB.
State TB Officer, Dr. Sanjay Turki informed the meeting that Rs. 500 per month, during treatment period, will be given to the TB patient under Nikshay Poshan Yojana and incentive will also be provided to the informant who bring TB patient to the doctor.
ADC Kathua, Atul Gupta stressed on creating awareness regarding TB disease and it`s symptoms so that patients can approach the doctor and take proper treatment.
CMO Dr. Ashok Choudhary, District Immunization Officer, Dr. Sanjay Sharma, District Tuberculosis Officer, Dr. Radha Krishan, officials associated with the IPPI programme and other concerned officers were also present during the meeting.
