| Teenager dies in landslide at Gurinal Chatroo | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Jan 16: In a tragic incident, 16 year old identified as Bilal Ahmed S/O Abdul Karim Bumal resident of Bumalpura, Gurinal in Chatroo Tehsil of Kishtwar District died after a landslide triggered due to heavy rain and snowfall in the area hit him.
As per the details available with Early Times, the decease was returning home along with live stock and suddenly the landslide triggered from the hillside of the adjoining mountain as a result of which he was hit with boulders and shooting stone and died on spot.
As soon as the incident took place, the villagers immediately rush to the spot and started rescue operation following which his dead body was recovered from the debris of the landslide. The deceased according to the locals belongs from a poor family and is the only son of his parents.
Several villagers including Ward Member Rafiqa Begum Sheikh, Ajaiz Hussain Sheikh and others expressed grief and shock over the tragic death of Bilal Ahmed. The local ward member Rafiqa Begum demanded Rs. 5 lakh compensation for the deceased family. |
