UDHAMPUR, Jan 16: District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Dr. Piyush Singla today unveiled a road safety Mascot named as "Road King" Sadak Rakshak in a function organized by Motor Vehicle Department.
SSP, Udhampur Rajiv Omparkash Pandey, SSP Traffic NHW J.S Johar and ARTO Rachna Sharma, BDC Chairperson, Councilors of Municipal Council, Udhampur Sarpanchs, Representative of Beopar Mandal, besides Automobile dealers, volunteers and students of various schools were present on the occasion.
During the celebration a traditional holy fire and theme based cake on road safety was cut by DDC along other dignitaries on the occasion. DDC appreciated the initiative of the department to highlight the importance of adhering traffic rules and regulations by involving various stakeholders.
He stressed for generating greater awareness regarding road safety among the commuters and advised the students to come forward to spread the message of road safety in the society.
Later, the DDC along with other Dignitaries distributed prizes among the participants. |
