| Horticulture deptt kick starts backyard horticulture | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 9: The Horticulture Department Majalta today kick started the flagship programme "Backyard Horticulture" under the scheme CAPEX at Khoon block of tehsil Majalta.
Chairperson Block Development Council Khoon Om Parkash was the chief guest who formally inaugurated the programme. Speaking on the occasion the chairperson BDC appreciated the efforts of the horticulture department for initiating such fruitful programmes.
Horticulture development officer Majalta informed that under this programme atleast three fruit plants amounting to Rupees 200 will be distributed to the farmers at 90% subsidy covering 1000 households in tehsil Majalta.
Block development officer Khoon also impressed upon farmers to plant these fruit plants in their houses backyard so as to preserve environment and increase green cover.eatables
Among others, sarpanches, naib sarpanches and packages of block Khoon were also present on the occasion.
