Measures taken by District Administration Ramban to prevent COVID-19

RAMBAN, Mar 16: District Administration, Ramban has taken all necessary measures to prevent corona virus infection in accordance with the advisories and orders received from government from time to time, it was informed by DC in a press conference, here today.
DC informed that district administration is all set to tackle the Corona outbreak and all senior officers are monitoring the Corona virus infection cases in district.
He said that administration is in direct contact with all departments besides other stakeholders and taking all steps needed to curb the spread of the menace. As of today, following steps have been taken by the administration at district level as well as block level to tackle the global pandemic of COVID-19.
DM Ramban imposed restriction/ban over the assembly/gathering of more than 05 persons at any public place in the entire district under section 144 Cr.Pc with immediate effect for a period of 15 days to avoid any type of mass gathering, crowd, congregations and functions.
DM ordered strict implementation of Section 51 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
Administration established Help Desk having contact No. 01998-266444 in District Hospitals (DH) Ramban besides control room in DC office with contact No.01998-266789 and DH contact No. 01998-266908 for the convenience of masses.
Administration closed all shelter and lodgment centres for stranded passengers till 31st of March besides banning social, religious ritualistic events at public, community and religious places.
Isolation wards have also been established by the administration in DH Ramban and all Medical Blocks besides establishing a quarantine centre at Dhalwas.
Total 23 people are under observation in home quarantine across the district and one has completed quarantine period whereas administration has also deputed screening teams at designated places including Bus Stand Ramban and Railway Station Banihal.
Administration has ordered that all schools, colleges, Technical Educational institutions, Recreational Places, Parks, Picnic Spots, Gymnasiums, Tuition and Coaching centers in district Ramban will remain closed till March 31 as a measure to counter the coronavirus. Ramban administration had shut the primary schools and Anganwadi Centres earlier this month.
Administration also restricted operation of Restaurants, Dhabas, Bars, Food Courts, Food Stalls, Road Sides Eateries.
DC has also constituted various monitoring committees headed by ADC, ACR, SDMs and Tehsildars comprising of police and health departments at district, sub-division and block level. He has also deputed surveillance teams across the district.
To avoid camps and meetings administration is effectively using Print, Electronic as well as Social Media to aware the public about information and precautions suggested by the health authorities regarding Covid-19. Administration has strongly advised the people to avoid all non-essential travel especially to affected states and abroad. On their return, they can be subjected to a quarantine of minimum of 14 days.
Administration has also directed religious, social and business organizations besides all departments especially Municipal Committees and Panchyati Raj Institutions for disinfecting all public places, Bus, Auto and Taxi stands, Railway stations, Auto including government and private offices to prevent Covid-19 regularly basis. ARTO was directed to ensure the sanitation of public transport vehicles
DM has also ordered cancellation of all awareness camps, ceremonial functions and sports events with immediate effect and directed the officers to avoid holding of frequent meetings and other functions to avoid gathering and better use the electronic medium for communication.
Various departments including Health, Information, Municipalities and PR institutions has launched awareness through IEC campaign to aware people about COVID-19.
