3/16/2020 11:51:07 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 16: “Very mature” statement given by National Conference patriarch Dr Farooq Abdullah after revocation of his detention under PSA is an indication that Congress’s design to instigate former chief minister has failed. Instead of giving any provocative statement to play in the hands of Congress party, Dr Abdullah issued a “balanced statement” on Sunday.
Credible sources said that Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad had visited residence of Dr Farooq Abdullah with a message from the high-command to urge senior Abdullah to launch attack on BJP led NDA Government at the Centre. “Azad’s visit at the residence of Dr Abdullah was not a courtesy call but he (Azad) went there with a message from the party leadership to convince Dr Abdullah to attend Lok Sabha on Monday to jointly launch a frontal attack on BJP government”, sources said and revealed that Congress wanted that Farooq Abdullah should take the lead.
Credible sources said that Congress leadership had every possible effort to convince Dr Abdullah to attend Lok Sabha today so that entire opposition would take on ruling BJP on the issue of imposing restriction in the Valley.
Congress leadership is very much aware that Dr Farooq Abdullah has potential to bring all opposition parties on a same platform due to his personal equations top opposition leaders so party (Congress) had tried its best to utilize his (Farooq’s) services at this crucial juncture.
Dr Farooq Abdullah has not stayed away from on-going session of the Parliament but he has also issued a very balanced statement to avoid confrontation with Centre, for the time being.
