| Shailendra Kumar set to get important assignment | | |

Srinagar, Mar 16: With the appointment of Hirdesh Kumar as the new Chief Electoral Officer of Jammu and Kashmir the outgoing CEO Shailendra Kumar is likely to be given an important posting, sources told Early Times. The Election Commission of India on Monday appointed Hirdesh Kumar as the new Chief Electoral Officer of Jammu and Kashmir. He replaced Shailendra Kumar.
A notification issued by the commission asked the Jammu and Kashmir administration to ensure that Hirdesh Kumar a 1999-batch IAS officer of the Jammu and Kashmir cadre takes charge "immediately".
Sources said that though the Shalinder Kumar has applied for central deputation, but the government may handover some important assignment to him within J&K.
Meanwhile sources said that as the Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan has been appointed as the Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu, a senior IAS officer is likely to be posted at his place. |
