Early Times Report
Jammu, April 2: Dr Karan Singh, Chairman Trustee of the J&K Dharmarth Trust today donated Rs 11 lakh to the Jammu and Kashmir Relief Fund for combating the spread of Corona virus disease (COVID-19) in J&K state. The Chairman Trustee in his letter to the Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu said, "On behalf of the Trustees of the Dharmarth Trust Jammu and Kashmir, I have pleasure in making a modest donation of Rs 11 lakhs towards the J&K Relief Fund in view of the grave challenges that the nation including our Union Territory is facing. This money has been sent through RTGS vide UTR No.581NR52020040200014210. On the occasion, Trustee of the Dharmarth Trust, Vikramaditya Singh also added that along with being committed to fulfilling Religious duties, Dharmarth Trust is also equally committed to the welfare of humanity. He hoped that the contribution of the Trust to the J&K Relief Fund would aid the efforts of the government and also added that we will continue to support the government in its endeavours to fight the corona virus health emergency. It is pertinent to mention that the J&K Dharmarth Trust was one of the first religious organisations in the country to take precautions against the corona virus outbreak and pay heed to the seriousness of the situation. In order to prevent public gatherings and promote social distancing to combat the highly contagious virus outbreak, the Trust had also closed all Temples and Shrines across Jammu and Kashmir divisions since the 20th of March.
