Anantnag, Apr 2: Militants on Thursday evening shot dead a 28-year-old youth inLarkipora area of Fatehpora in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
As per reports, a youth namely Mohammad Saleem Dar (28) son of Mohammad Abdullah Dar, a resident of Larkipora, Fatehpora was fired upon by the suspected militants this evening.
With critical bullet injuries, he was shifted to Government Medical College Anantnag, however doctors declared him ‘brought dead.’
Soon after the incident, a joint team of police and army launched searches in the area.
Earlier, militants killed two civilians in Nandimarg area of Kulgam district last night.
According to police, in the evening at about 11.20 PM Kulgam Police received information about a terror incident in Nadimarg D H Pora area of Kulgam, where terrorists killed two civilians. Consequently local police reached the spot.
Preliminary investigation, according to police, revealed that terrorists shot dead two persons identified as Siraj Ahmad Gorse S/o Ali Mohammad and Ghulam Hassan Wagay S/o Abdul Wahab Wagay both residents of Nandimarg.
“In this connection case under relevant sections of law has been registered. The investigation is in progress” police said.
