Despite overall criticism of domicile law, some attempt to portray it beneficial for Jammu
Do saffron leaders assume Jammuites deaf and dumb?
4/3/2020 12:26:02 AM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Apr 2: The new domicile-law, reserving only Level-4 posts such as peons, chowkidars, junior assistants or equivalent for youth of Jammu and Kashmir has been facing overall criticism on social-media from all quarters especially by the youth of Jammu but some saffron party leaders-the so called champions of Jammu cause- have still been trying to portray it to be beneficial for Jammu.
Instead of projecting the true aspirants of Jammu youth before the national leadership, these sycophant saffron party leaders are of the habit of portraying every decision of Union as favourable for Jammu, by self-made hypothesis and logics. From such disposition of saffron part leaders, it could be conclusively inferred that Jammuites are deaf and dumb for them, who could be befooled every time by these leaders. The new domicile law has been facing much flak over social media platforms from the youth of all Jammu districts, even from those districts, where revocation of Article-370 had got silent support.
A facebook user from Jammu termed the new Domicile law, a legislation which has relegated the Dogra identity to mere Chowkidars, while some users have uploaded satires which reads, “DC from Bihar, ADC from Rajasthan, Tehsildar from Uttar-Pradesh, Naib-Tehsildar from Orrisa, SHO, from Haryana, Teachers/lecturers/doctors from South India, Patwari from Punjab and Chaprasi from Jammu. Unity in diversity”.
“Domicile rule.....it reminds me of the days, when many here (J&K) proudly updated their DP on facebook with the slogan “Main Bhi Chowkidar”.....and the Masters in Delhi by Law confirmed..........Tum Sirf Chowkidar”, a user wrote.
Majority of the Jammu based youth was unanimous about the law terming it anti-youth and were found venting their anger against the Bhartiya Janta Party and openly declare to boycott it in upcoming years.
Some of the users directly targeted the so-called champions of Jammu cause, who have come to power raising the volley of “Jammu facing discrimination in jobs”. “Earlier they claimed that Jammu youth had been facing discrimination as majority of posts were grabbed by Kashmiris and now majority of the posts would be grabbed by youth from other states. Is it anyway doing away with discrimination or it will further snatch away the minimum jobs from Jammu youth”, the users said.
Despite open bashing on social media platforms as well as criticism from various political parties, a saffron party leader, who used to drape a saffron shawl even during summers, tried to portray the law as beneficial for Jammu youth but all in vain as youth openly rejected his self-satisfactory responses. “The same leader had boast of uprooting the Sarore Toll Plaza but his appeal has not reached to Union Highway Minister, who responded with another Toll Plaza at Lakhanpur”, the users responded on the video uploaded on social networking site Youtube.
However some of the users, tried to justify this saffron leader’s opinion but faced blunt responses from youth and ultimately left the debate, feeling gravity of anger. The domicile-law has ultimately proved to be another jumla of saffron party leaders as all the claims about development of Jammu region, jobs to Jammu youth, investment in Jammu region have so far been dashed to ground.
“The Jammu region will see demographic change in coming years as people from rest of India are not going to settle in turmoil hit Kashmir valley but in Jammu districts and it would be detrimental to Dogra identity”, the users wrote.
“It is amply clear that these saffron leaders have nothing to do with the future of Jammu youth as they have already accumulated huge moveable and immovable property during their brief stint in power, which will be sufficient for several of their future generations and their children don’t require any government jobs", an angry youth said, adding that even if they would require the jobs, they would manage the same by their political links but not the majority of Jammu youth, who would not be befooled forever.
