Jammu, Apr 2: Amit Sharma, Administrator, Government Medical College and Associated Hospitals Jammu, apart from attending to strenuous ongoing Novel Corona Virus related official duties, today took a special lead in organising a Dry Ration Distribution Camp for Rag Pickers, Beggars and some destitute families in the outskirts of Jammu city in this Total Lockdown situation, through an active participation of Hardware Paint and Sanitary Dealers Association (HPSDA) led by Neeraj Gupta (President), Naresh Chopra (Sr Vice President), Varun Sharma (Vice President), Subash Nanda (Gen Secy), Vishal Bhat (Treasurer) and Sanjay Pandita (Publicity Incharge) for this noble cause.
The drive was led by Amit Sharma, who has been actively organising Camps and Drives for such people in the past on several occasions and this time, this Drive was conducted in two phases, first leg of whom was organised on Akhnoor Road and second leg near Jammu Tawi Railway Station in Maratha Basti of Rag Pickers and Beggars. He pointedly mentioned that this is the hour of highest crisis and we need to come out in numbers to help these people who are virtually in a state of total starvation due to the ongoing 21-day nationwide lockdown. During the Camp, Administrator Associated Hospitals Amit Sharma guided them strictly to maintain Social Distancing and the dedicated team of Volunteers of the said Association also distributed Masks and Sanitizers amongst the families of Rag Pickers and Beggars. He pointed out that we must understand the gravity of the situation and follow all the advisories issued by the Government from to time so that this Global nCoV Crisis can be overcome with joint efforts and sacrifices of the masses as has been pointed out by our Prime Minister from time to time.
