4/10/2020 9:48:37 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, April 10: Following the government guidelines of maintaining social distancing and encouraging people to stay home in order to flatten the curve of coronavirus affected people, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member, Raman Suri, continued the process of ration distribution to the needy and helpless people in different localities of Jammu City at this time of trouble.
While distributing ration, Raman Suri said that the government is aware of the ground situation and is accordingly planning the supply of essential services to people. Similarly, the RSS, Seva Bharti and BJP workers are also on the job to ensure that every family has sufficient amount of food. He said there are sufficient stocks of essential items and foodgrains available in the market, but what's needed is that people don't crowd bazars.
Raman Suri, while distributing ration at Mohalla Darugiran to the needy from Panjbakhtar Road, Gujarati families of Gumat Bazar area, Gandu ki Chawni area as well as Mohalla Darugiran itself, also provided milk for little children. He said, this isn't the end of distribution and social activists will continue to help people who are in dire need of essentials, but also requested them not to hoard the ration.
He said that when government and its entire administrative machinery, including field staff, are working round the clock to help patients, identify them, treat them, help other population and ensure supply of food, water and electricity, it becomes people's responsibility to listen to the government and stay indoors.
He said that since there is currently no vaccine for coronavirus, and the only remedy is staying home, then why people cannot do this simple thing. When everything is being taken care of, children have been promoted to next classes, no one is asking for school fees and other benefits stand extended to people, all that's needed is not to crowd markets and stay home.
Speaking there, Raman Suri said that there is no need to panic as the Union Government, J&K UT administration, Religious and Social organisations, NGOs, Political parties and various other social activists, in their individual capacity, are doing their bit in every manner they can. He assured that no one will suffer till the government, these organisations and individuals are working on ground.
He advised youngsters not to move out unnecessarily, and come out of their homes only in case of emergency while maintaining social distance. People shouldn't crowd shops and vegetable markets, wash hands with soap frequently, sanitise articles that they bring home, maintain hygiene and follow overnment advisories.
