District Administration Rajouri ropes in local entrepreneurs
SHGs for mass production of reusable masks

Rajouri, Apr 10: As a part of various measures taken by the District Administration for the containment of the COVID-19 in the district, Administration has roped in various local entrepreneurs and Self-Help Groups (SHGs) for mass production of reusable face-masks to contain the spread of COVID-19.
Deputy Commissioner Rajouri while briefing about the recent order for universal coverage of masks said, we have roped in scores of local entrepreneurs and SHGs for mass production of around 6 lacs reusable face-masks in the district.The masks are made as per the set-guidelines and all the raw material is being provided to the SHGs for the production of the same,” he said.
He said that in view of such instructions, a District Level Task Force Committee has been constituted for placing orders,collection and distribution of the masks and Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj has been nominated as the Nodal Agency for the same.
He said as per the order, one mask shall be provided to each member of the household including pension beneficiaries, old age homes, orphanages and children homes, and the distribution of the masks is to be made through Block COVID AMCs and Panchayat COVID AMCs constituted by the Government.
Further, elaborating on the issue he stressed that use of Cotton masks is totally safe, if proper hygiene is maintained and people must spare surgical Masks and N-95 Masks for the frontline workers, who are trying their best to contain the further spread of the disease.
Deputy Commissioner further appealed to the public to follow the advisories issued by the Administration to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
