JAMMU ,Apr 10: As country wide lockdown continues to remain in force as a precautionary measure to keep ourselves safe from deadly COVID -19 since March 25 , a Kashmiri Pandit family has been stranded in Kapurthala of neighbouring state of Punjab.
Revealing his family’s ordeal to Early Times ,Sunil Raina of Jagti camp said that he along with his family which includes his wife and two minor children had gone to attend a family get together at Chandigarh on March 23 and returned back to Jammu on March 25 exactly the day a 21-day lockdown for entire country was announced to remain in force by the authorities .
He said he was able to get permission of travelling along with his family to Jammu from Punjab authorities but was not allowed to enter at Lakhanpur the gateway of union teritory of Jammu and Kashmir.
He had been persuing the authorities at Lakhanpur to allow him along with his family to travel to Jammu as he was ready to follow all the necessary guidelines for the travel but he had not been allowed to continue his travel to his destination.
Seeing that all his possible efforts are not working at all he booked a hotel in punjab but after few days he checked out from the hotel due to financial constraints and sought refuge in the house of friend in Kapurthala.
At this point of time when there are crisis across the globe at all fronts Sunil said his friend too has a big family to feed thus urged the LG of J&K union territory, Girish Chandra Murmu that his wife and minor children are in great distress and want to see their home at Jagti camp in Jammu .Moreover an arrangement for sending him Jammu along with his family be made on priority as circumstances were going bad to worse with each passing dayfor his family , he added.
