District Administration leaves remote villages in lurch
4/10/2020 9:51:39 PM
Early Times Report
Poonch, April 10: The lockdown is a much necessary step announced by PM to break the chain of Covid19. Majority of the people were following the lockdown seriously by staying at home. Although district administration is making claims of providing the essentials to the doorstep seems unfair as there were many villages of Poonch were remain unreached. Talking to ET reporter the locals of Ajote village and village at Kirni locals said that nobody from the administration comes to us to ensure supply of essentials before lockdown we have made stock of essentials but many families have not much to eat, they added that we often see administration and NGOs distributing essentials to people on social media platforms but we were still awaiting for ration.
They said that villages also need attention and essentials. They added that we were facing CFV daily but administration is limited to the city only as villages still awaits for them. When the reporter checked the ground reality it comes to notice that many NGOs were providing dry ration and Langer services daily from many days to the non resident labours and others which cannot afford meals for them but the administration is unable to provide essentials to the remote villages. A local Ghulam Mustafa, Alamgir and others talking to the ET reporter said that PM is ensuring everything but it's the responsibility of district administration to distribute the essentials to locals.
