EARLY TIMES REPORT

SRINAGAR, Apr 10: A group of non-local laborers, in South Kashmir Pulwama district, were thrashed mercilessly allegedly by Cops after they protested and demanded food.
As per reports, group of non-local laborers were shifted to Government Degree College Pulwama few days ago. The non-local laborers were promised food and all essential eatables but on the 8th of this month when the district administration failed to serve them the meals on time they started protesting. On the seeing protesting them and creating ruckus in college premises, furious cops, according to sources, thrashed few among them. In the videos, available with Early Times, blood can be seen oozing from a non-local labor’s head. “Now we don’t need food shab, we don’t need anything. Please allow us to go. Government is doing injustice with us,” non-local laborers can be heard saying in the video. In the video, few police cops can also be seen pacifying the agitated non-local laborers. Those non-local laborers were picked up from several villages of the district and were assembled in Degree College buildings.
According to reports, the non-local laborers were later shifted to Tuhab area of the district where they themselves cook their meals. The district administration is providing them rice and other required material for the meals. Deputy Inspector General of South Kashmir Range Atul Geol (IPS) when contacted refused to comment on the issue, saying he hasn’t seen the video. “ I can’t comment on this because I haven’t see this video,” he said.
