| 19 shopkeepers booked, 4 vehicles seized for defying lockdown orders | | | Early Times Report
SAMBA, Apr 13: Acting tough against the lockdown violators, the police today booked 19 shopkeepers, seized 4 vehicles and challaned 6 across district Samba. The penalties were imposed U/S 188 IPC and under relevant sections of MV Act, said police sources. The shopkeepers were booked for keeping their shops open beyond permitted time slots in violation of prohibitory orders. As many as 16 shopkeepers were booked for violation under the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal while an FIR was registered against two of them under the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba. One case of violation against a shopkeeper was registered at Police Station Ramgarh. The crackdown on violators will continue to ensure safety of precious lives. Samba Police urged the citizens to stay at home and abide by the lockdown orders.
