Sample Collection Centre installed at AH Ghagwal

SAMBA, Apr 20: In order to further boost the containment of COVID-19 efforts in the District Samba, a COVID-19 sample collection centre was today inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Samba, Rohit Khajuria at Accidental Hospital, Ghagwal. Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Rajinder Samyal, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Sanjay Sharma, Block Medical Officer, Dr. Anju Bala besides other senior officers and staff members were present on the occasion.
DC assured the health department for any kind of support needed for the smooth functioning of the collection centre. He laid emphasis upon all the medical staff stationed at the collection centre to maintain proper hygiene and ensure proper collection of suspected covid-19 samples. He said the medical staffs have been properly trained and undergone medical training sessions.
He appealed to the people of the district to stay indoors during the lockdown period and extend their cooperation to the District Administration.
A team of doctors and paramedical staff comprising of Dr. Narinder Khuller, Consultant ENT Accidental Hospital Ghagwal, Dr. Priyanka Sambyal, Consultant ENT, Emergency Hospital Vijaypur, Dr. Indra Kotwal, Pathologist Emergency Hospital Vijaypur, Kewel Krishan Sr. Lab. Tech, Accidental Hospital Ghagwal & Radha Krishan, Sr. Lab. Tech, Accidental Hospital Ghagwal & Mohd. Aslam, Jr. Lab Tech, Emergency Hospital Vijaypur shall collect the samples of covid suspects/cases on daily basis which will be further sent to Govt Medical College Jammu for testing.
Overall total 50 samples were collected today which were sent to GMC Jammu for testing.
