Early Times Report

RAJOURI, Apr 20: At a time when the whole country is witnessing unprecedented lockdown the Taryath Tehsil in this district is witnessing normal activities from some of the influential people or people having some political connection.
Ram Singh, Sarpanch said that all business activities are going on in the tehsil and same can be done since the things are available in the market although through some ‘influential’ traders. Singh said that articles like tin sheets, fans, ply board, blankets and clothes are being sold by the influential traders.
“We informed the district administration many times in this regard but no action was taken. The concerned Tehsildar and Naib Tehsildar were contacted many times, but no action was taken. It seems that the violators of law are hand in glove with the administration and as such they are escaping the punitive action,” said the Sarpanch.
Singh said that they caught hold of a Tata Mobile vehicle and seized the same since it was carrying some goods meant for the influential traders. He said the vehicle was handed over to the concerned police station, but till date no questioning of the driver and the people for whom the articles were meant was done.
“The vehicle belongs to the brother of a top leader who is also a Sarpanch. If administration does not do anything we will come on roads and lodge a strong protest against the inaction. Let the administration hand over the case to the public and it would be ensured that within 10 days the violators would be identified and then action can be taken,” said the Sarpanch.
Repeated attempts to contact the Tehsildar Taryath did not bore any fruit since the phone was out of coverage area.
