BARAMULLA, Apr 20: In a major breakthrough amid COVID-19 scare, authorities have discharged 7 COVID-19 patients including the first patient who was found positive in the district, from Govt Medical College Baramulla after all of them have recovered from the disease, while as 30 have been discharged in Uri and 15 in Bandipora district of north Kashmir.
The patients, hailing from different regions were treated at GMC and were discharged after their tests were found negative for the virus repeatedly.
Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo congratulated the recovered patients and urged upon them to remain in home quarantine for some time as a precautionary measure. He also distributes the requisite medicines among them.
“This disease can be defeated if necessary measures and precautions are followed,” the DC added.
Medical Superintendent Associated Hospital Dr Syed Masood, medical officers among other functionaries were present on the occasion.
While as thirty Tabligi Jamat persons were discharged today from quarantine centre JNV Shahkote after their tests came negative who were shifted to quarantine center Shahkote two weeks ago after successfully completed their 17 days quarantine period.
Duty Magistrate Sub Division Uri oversaw their discharge and transportation to their respective homes.
Sources said that the group like all others before them was under through medical supervision period and was discharged after clearance from doctors and health authorities with the strict directions to remain in home quarantine.
More than 150 persons have been discharged from TRC Salambad, Mohra and Shahkote Quarantine Centers so far after successfully completing their required two weeks quarantine in Sub Division Uri.
Meanwhile it is leant that 15 discharged persons have been put under home quarantine as a precautionary measures and their medical checkup shall be regularly conducted in Bandipora district.
While as 543 persons have been put under administrative quarantine while 3776 persons are under home quarantine and are being regularly monitored, said sources.
Sources said that 31 dedicated screening teams of Health experts in 12 Red zones of Hajin, Naidkhai, Gund Jahangeer, SK Bala, Batagund, Chandeergeer, madwan, Hakbara, Kunan, Gund Qaiser, Gund Dachina, Nowgam and Bonakoot who are continuously conducting screening and 27114 persons have been screened so far.
Forty one Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) tests were conducted in the district on Monday including 25 in Gund Jahangeer and Hajin while 16 were conducted in Bandipora town, said sources.
They said that, Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) shall also be done in the hospital within few days as the reagents have been received and shall be made available at the hospital soon.
The technical staff is fully trained to take the samples and perform testing for COVID19 in Bandipora district, sources informed.
