People should take PM Modi’s call of Lockdown seriously
4/21/2020 12:12:22 AM
Vinod Chandrashekhar Dixit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has issued an appeal to the citizens of the country to take the lockdown, imposed to prevent the spread of the novel corona virus disease, seriously but why people are not taking it seriously? The prime minister asked people to save themselves and their family by following instructions seriously and has asked states to make sure appropriate orders were sent out to allow only essential services to function in those districts that have reported confirmed coronavirus cases and deaths. Lockdown means you are supposed to stay at home, with your family and not roaming around in the streets. Our PM Modi had in his tweet thanked each person who led the fight against the coronavirus. He also said that with this “resolve and patience, let’s restrict (social distancing) ourselves as part of this long battle.” Modi also thanked elderly women of the country for expressing their gratitude to those fighting the deadly virus. Our Government and its administration have been quite proactive in dealing with the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
Good hygiene and social distancing remain the top two tactics. This is a great time to practice restraint. Nothing has changed about the way COVID-19 spreads. “Social distancing” remains the only way to combat the spread of the pandemic. The only thing we can do today is to take the responsible decision to stay at home. When we reduce our day-to-day contact with other people, we will reduce the spread of the infection. If our PM Modi did not order a lockdown there would be tsunamic deaths. In the lockdown there would be calculable hardships, particularly for the poor but there is no alternative to save people except this. Even Donald Trump has said that social isolation shutting down business means that the cure is worse than the disease. While giving Lockdown call Modi knew it is a tough call, but it is a necessary one. Don’t we think we need to support our PM Modi and to save ourselves to contain the spread of Covid19? Modi has given call of lockdown as it is only of our interest and the only way by which we can save our loved ones and nation to die. United Nation and other countries imposed it but a late lockdown and now we can see how lot of lives has gone.
Despite several appeals by the State administration to people to stay indoors, many in different parts of the city were seen on roads and in neighborhoods, throwing caution and all social distancing norms to the wind. The truth is that you can have all the food you want in the house, but if people are still ignorant about what they need to do in order to prevent the virus from spreading, then everyone else in the fight against the coronavirus will fight a losing battle,
As thoughtful citizens, the information that we have tells us that the only way to stop this monster is with social distancing. Physical distancing is a key component to decrease asymptomatic spread. Social distancing is crucial for preventing the spread of contagious illnesses such as COVID-19. Despite the advice of the World Health Organization and the recommendations of the health authorities of the countries most affected, many people continue to heed and take responsibility for the pandemic. No doubt the people are moving about because there is a lack of supply of basic needs and this is one of the reasons why people are out but the administration needs to do more to enforce the lockdown and crack the whip on those who are out without any reason.
It’s important to note that some drawbacks of social distancing can include loneliness, reduced productivity, and the loss of other benefits associated with human interaction. We must remember that even if one person gets infected, we would be in danger of the whole settlement being infected. People need to remain at home and practice the highest level of hygiene. Avoiding crowds of people will be important in slowing the spread of the Coronavirus. It helps to stop COVID-19 from spreading rapidly and also helps to keep the number of people who are sick at one time as low as possible. If we care about the well-being of anyone besides ourselves, we need to stay at home right now. Let us work to practice social distancing instead of deliberately making selfish choices that put others in danger. Be safe. Do not panic. The only way that we fight this virus, the only way we save lives, the only we stop it in its tracks is by staying at home, and there is a responsibility on all of us to take that seriously.
