Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 21: On the 13th day of ongoing Quarantine Theatre Festival, Natrang presented Balwant Thakur’s highly acclaimed children play ‘Aap Humare Hain Kaun’ on its social media platforms.
Giving his message through video conferencing from South Africa with the members of Natrang, Balwant Thakur, Director Natrang informed that such endeavours at these hours of crisis will prove highly fruitful. In such a situation when majority of people are sitting free at home, such opportunities of intellectual engagement are going to play a very positive role in their lives.
He further said that continuously since last 13 days Natrang has been showing best of its creative works and assured to continue this new tradition as long as possible. Natrang is the only theatre group of the country which has volunteered to showcase its repertoire of theatre, thus providing a unique opportunity to the art connoisseurs.
The play ‘Aap Hamare Hain Kaun’ shakes parents, educationists/guardians of society out of reverie of materialism, consumerism and unbridled desires. This play compels elders to look around and clear the mess they have created due to their own amorous ambitions. Parents see in their children an extension of their unfulfilled dreams and force them to become stereotypes and kill bountiful charm in them. In a pursuit to make them doctors, engineers and I.A.S., they are subjected to every kind of cruelty. The children become mechanical and hardly get time to discover their real self. Prevalent education system adds further insult to injury and creativity gets scuttled and children grow up devoid of values. Play deals with contemporary problems that younger generation is up against from their own loved ones and surroundings. On Wednesday, 14th day of this online festival, ‘Bagia Banccha Ram Ki’ written by Manoj Mitra and directed by Adil Hussain would be featured.
