Members of Rotary Club call on Dr Nirmal Singh

Jammu, April 25: The Members of Rotary Club of Jammu on the direction of its President Dr. Anil Amla met Dr Nirmal Singh former Speaker/Dy Chief Minister of J& K Legislative Assembly and discussed various projects being done by the Rotary Club of Jammu during Pandemic of COVID 19.
Rtn Sunil Kumar Sawhney District officer of Rotary International District 3070 duly nominated by the Club President ,on behalf of Rotary Club of Jammu handed over cheques of Rs. 1.5 lac contributed by the club members to PM Cares Fund to Dr. Nirmal Singh. This amount is a part of the total contribution of the club i.e. Rs. 3.5 lacs and rest of the amount has been deposited online. Besides the cash contributions more than Rs.2.0 lac has been spent till date by the club members for distribution of free Ration and Medicines to the needy peoples.
It has also been informed by Rtn Sawhney that out of total target of Rs. 30.00 lacs fixed by the District Governor Rtn Sunil Ngapal , more than Rs. 29 lacs has since been contributed by the members of various Rotary Clubs of RID 3070 (Comprising of JK UT, Part of Punjab and Part of Himachal Pradesh). It was further informed that out of total target of Rs.30.00 crores fixed by the Rotary International President elect (2020-21) Rtn Shekhar Mehta for India , more than 29 crores has since been contributed by the Rotarians of India
Various Rotary Clubs of J&K UT are also doing their best in cash as well as non cash contribution in the shape of Rations and Medicines to the needy peoples. Dr Nirmal Singh appreciated the service and role of Rotarians of various Rotary Clubs of J&K for their cash as well as non cash contribution during this crisis of Pandemic COVID 19. Due to lockdown and social distancing no other members of the club could accompany Rtn Sawhney except Rtn Rajat Singh.
