Stranded in Delhi, J&K people on verge of starvation

UDHAMPUR, Apr 25: Many J&K residents stranded at national capital Delhi are facing problems in getting food and other facilities in the ongoing nationwide lockdown.
One of the stranded Udhampur residents, Suram Singh informed that they are seven persons at Vishwas Nagar, 60 Feet Road, Lane Number 11, House No 29/60 in Shahdara, district of East Delhi and are on the verge of starvation.
“We are working as labourers here and all the money and eatables with us have exhausted,” he said over phone adding that their landlord is now asking them to vacate the residence soon.
He further said that if they come out to go for work cops beat them.
He appealed the authorities concerned to help them reach their to native place else they will die of starvation here.
“There are more like us here,” he informed.
When Early Times tried to contact to DC Udhampur, Piyush Singla, to take his comment in this regard he did not attend phone.
However, Rimpy Ohri, Additional Secretary at J&K Resident Commission New Delhi when contacted sought the address of the stranded people and assured every possible help to them.
However, till last reports she was not able to reach the stranded people.
