JAMMU, Apr 25: Mulkh Raj Ashok Kumar Jewellers donated Rs 1.11 lakh in favour of the Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM CARES) Fund to fight against coronavirus pandemic.
Ankur Suri, Managing Director MRAK Jewellers handed over the cheque to J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina in presence of former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, BJP Vice President Yudhvir Sethi; District President Vinay Gupta and General Sectary Jammu district unit, Ankush Gupta at BJP Headquarters here on Saturday.
Ravinder Raina appreciated the noble gesture shown by the Mulkh Raj Ashok Kumar Jewellers, being the prominent jewellers of the Union Territory and said that society is indebted to such noble acts, as the whole world is reeling under the pressure to combat ill effects of COVID-19 pandemic.
He said that this contribution means a lot in this valuable time and requested others to follow the same suit. He asserted that such contribution will strengthen the effort of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to combat the ill effects of corona Pandemic.
Ankur Suri said that trouble has erupted across the world due to corona spread and it is the duty of every person to pay back to the society. In these days, every capable person must contribute according to his or her strength, he added.
"Founded in 1947 by the futurist entrepreneur (late) Lala Mulkh Raj Saraf, MRAK jewellers feel this as their duty in the service of the Nation, Society and the mankind," Suri said, assuring BJP leadership to all possible support in combating the spread of COVID-19.
