Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 28: These politicians, who have been intending to solidify vote bank, should take some insights from the honesty of a former bureaucrat turned legislator from Kathua constituency, Charanjeet Singh.
Being an honest bureaucrat in district Kathua, Charanjeet Singh had worked tirelessly for the public. Impressed by the honesty and dedication of Charanjeet Singh, the public had launched an agitation when the bureaucrat was transferred from Kathua.
For his honesty the bureaucrat became so popular that public urged the bureaucrat to contest the elections. The bureaucrat had accepted the public offer and successfully won the elections without spending huge money on campaign. Being a legislator, Charanjeet Singh had also worked with dedication and maintained his honesty. “Being a politician he was not involved in any type of corrupt practices and was managing his public welfare efforts through constituency development fund or from his salary and then from pension.
In no case an honest politician can be able to spend such huge money on public welfare”, a politician said, adding that drawing a parallel between these publicity hungry politicians and honest legislator from Kathua, one could easily decode that from where these politicians have been getting money to fund their activities these days.
Any honest politician could not spare money from his pension for public welfare initiatives as the pension is in few thousands but it is automatically clear from the public welfare initiatives of the politicians during COVID-19 restrictions that they are more dependent on other sources of money. “In the pension amount, even one day’s campaign cannot be funded but these politicians have been spending since last many days, which points towards the huge wealth accumulated through illegal means”, a politician said.
