ESTEWS seeks clarity on Universal Health Insurance Scheme

JAMMU, Apr 29: JK Excise State Taxes Employees Welfare Society (JKESTEWS) has urged the government to come clear on Universal Health Insurance Scheme.
President of the Society Rtd DC Excise Vijay Sharma appealed Lt Governor of JKUT GS Murmu to clear the confusion prevailing over the Universal Health Insurance Scheme launched by Central Govt for J&K residents in particular employees/pensioners.
An order issued by Health &Medical Education Deptt of Govt of JKUT No 312-JK(MHE)of 2020 Dtd 20.03.2020 in this regard for admission in the prescribed hospital for treatment is not been honoured. Whereas in the letter issued by Financial Commissioner Atul Dullu it was clarified that Adhaar Card will be considered as Admit card in the Hospitals instead of any other card separately for Health Insurance Scheme under Ayushman Bharat Mahaan Scheme of Central Govt for residents of JKUT.
President of Society said when hospital authorities were approached they informed that no guidelines have been issued by the JKUT Govt in this behalf. He urged upon the concerned authorities that the confusion in this behalf be clarified at an earliest in particular during the present prevailing circumstances of coronavirus crisis to enable residents of JKUT to get benefitted from the Universal Health Insurance Scheme.
