COVID19: 305 permits issued in favour of nomads in Rajouri

RAJOURI, APRIL 30: In an effort to facilitate the nomads during their journey to the upper reaches, the district administration Rajouri on Thursday held a special camp at Tehsil office Rajouri and issued 305 permits in favour of the nomads.

The nomads in whose favour the permits have been issued/renewed belong to villages Farwala, Palam, Nagrota, Sankari, Kotedhara, ladhote, Badhun, Dassal, Jattan, Jandidhari, Nagoon and Thudi area of Rajouri Tehsil.

The whole exercise has been done by Tehsildar Rajouri, Sheraz Chowhan as per the directions of the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri,Mohammad Nazir Sheikh.

Tehsildar Rajouri has informed that prior to this around 1234 permits have also been renewed/ issued in favour of nomads of different villages of Tehsil Rajouri and these permits are being collected through Lamberdars and Chowkidars of the area and facilitated through Patwari Halqa concerned as the public in general is not allowed to gather to collect the permits keeping in view the lockdown and restrictions imposed.

He assured that such camps would be conducted on a regular basis in future amid COVID19 to mitigate the sufferings of the nomads and to ensure their convenience during their journey to upper reaches.
