EARLY TIMES REPORT

POONCH, May 19: Scores of people who have been kept under quarantine by the administration at various government established facilities in Mendhar area of Poonch district are making complaints over their elongated stay at quarantine centres.
Talking to Early Times, a group of people said that despite staying at the quarantine facility ranging from 15 to 21 days, the authorities are yet to confirm result of their samples taken for COVID-19.
The inamtes said that administration took their samples some 20 days ago and they are yet to receive the test reports adding that at least the administration should have informed them about their status of their tests by now.
Another person said, “We are here for the last one month and our samples have already been collected by the health officials, we fail to understand that why our reports are being delayed when the same comes hardly after three days.”
The inmates said that not only about the inadequate facilities and arrangements but the lack of proper communication on their status of samples which have been taken on 7th May have frustrated their families.
“Authorities told us that the test result will come in three days. However, they want to again take our samples which we fail to understand,” said several inmates.
Meanwhile Tehsildar Mendhar, Dr Vikram Kumar when contacted, said that he will look into the matter and necessary action will be taken.
