EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, June 18: An extraordinary meeting of JKTF through Zoom was held today at Jammu under the chairmanship of Ganesh Khajuria. The meeting was attended by almost all the prominent members of the Forum. The demands which were highlighted in the meeting included repatriation of masters and lecturers from Jammu, Samba and Kathua who are working in other districts in far flung areas from the last four to five years. Forum demands their posting in their parent district without any further delay, creation of Head teacher (master grade) posts in all the Middle schools upgraded under SSA on the pattern of RMSA, as these head teachers are suffering a lot for the last two and half years, regularisation of Incharge Laboratory assistants, teachers, lecturers, principals and other cadres of education department working in incharge capacity, transfers in winter zone of different cadres has not been affected for the last four years. Forum demands issuance of transfer order of different cadres, regularization of ReTs, who have completed five years of regular service, and issuance of orders of teacher Grade-II and Grade-III in favour of regularized ReTs and regularization of Contingent Paid Workers (CPWs), who are working in the department at a meager salary of two hundred to five hundred per annum. This is clear violation of human rights. Forum demands their regularization in the department as class IV employees or they must be brought under minimum wages Act.
Forum also demanded that the post facto permissions may be granted in favour of teachers and masters who have enhanced their qualifications in science stream and waiting for permissions since ten to twelve years. Many of them have been promoted but till date waiting for their adjustments besides release of pending arrears of Head teachers, RReTs and ReTs.
While addressing the meeting, the speakers appealed to the education higher authorities to intervene and redress the issues of the teaching community.
