Udhampur, July 17: It may sound bizarre but it is a a reality that a prominent industrialist travelled all the way from Delhi to Udhampur crossing Kathua, Samba and Jammu districts of while passing through many red zones.
Sources informed that before reaching Udhampur the industrialist and his two co-travelers also stayed for sometime at his industry in Kathua and reached Udhampur at about 9:30 pm on July 16 (Thursday).
On reaching Udhampur the industrialist directly reached his industrial unit without informing his travel history to the administration.
“Nothing is known so far as to what was going through the mind of the industrialist,” sources said adding that the matter was brought into the notice of DC Udhampur, Dr Piyush Singla and a police team was dispatched to the industry, but it returned empty handed as the industry management denied their boss having reached there.
In the meantime, the industrialist felt strictness of the administration and co-operated the system finally landing in a quarantine centre at a hotel in the town. “They are under quarantine at an administrative quarantine centre in Udhampur,” Chief Medical Officer Udhampur told this reporter.
Sources informed that the DC took pain and acted strictly after the industry management didn’t co-operate the visiting police team. The locals have commended the prompt action by the DC Udhampur and expressed concern over the irresponsible attitude of the industrialist.
