Restrictions re-imposed in Kishtwar following spur in COVID 19 cases
Public transport to ply on odd/even basis, vehicles entry restricted to outskirts of town

JAMMU, July 17: Following the spur in COVID-19 cases, District Administration in Kishtwar District has re-imposed the restrictions with effect from today by announcing partial/conditional relaxation in the District.
As per the order issued by Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar vide No DM/K/2020/19159-98 Dated 16-7-2020, taking cognizance regarding prevailing health emergency caused due to the Corona virus disease which has resulted in many positive cases in District Kishtwar, various orders and advisories have already been issued by the District Administration, necessary precautions with regard to prevent and control of the COVID-19 including avoiding mass gathering, etc are not strictly being followed.
The decision to re-impose the restrictions in Kishtwar District was also taken on the bases of the detailed report submitted by Medical Superintendent District Hospital Kishtwar in which it was reported that three COVID cases were reported from the community, one from Bandrena area of the District and two from Chingam area of Sub Division and there is dire need of extensive contact tracing, sampling and implementation of restrictive measures in these areas. The Medical Superintendent also reported that markets are over flooded with people and people are venturing out without wearing masks and are not observing physical distancing, beside the shopkeepers are also not adhering to the directions issued by the administration from time to time. Following the reports of violation from various areas of the District and surfacing of three COVID-19 positive cases from community, DC Kishtwar Rajinder Singh Tara orders for imposition of fresh restrictions under Section 144 Cr.PC as well as under various sections of Disaster Management Act.
As per the order passed by DC Kishtwar all medical shops, fruit, vegetable shops, meat, poultry, printing press will remain open on all days of the week from 9 AM to 8 PM, whereas all other shops will remain open on alternative days for 2/3 days in a week.
All the shopkeepers, retailers, service providers have been asked to work with 50% staff strength at a time, beside as per the order—no person above 60 years shall be engaged in sale/purchase activity.
All the shopkeepers will have to wear the mask, adhere to proper sensitization including social distancing and other protocol as warranted for COVID 19. Meanwhile, in another order issued by DC Kishtwar, the restrictions were also imposed on the movement of public transport.
As per the order issued by DC Kishtwar vide No DM/K/2020/19201-31, the buses, mini buses, taxi, maxi cabs and auto rickshaws shall ply in the limits of Kishtwar District on odd/even basis.
Beside restrictions on public transport, the passenger vehicles coming towards Kishtwar District had been restricted from entering inside Kishtwar town and had been allowed to travel only upto outskirts of Kishtwar town.
