Teaching fraternity prefers official work rather than teaching

Early Times Report

Jammu, July 21: The office of the Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has turned out to be a safe heaven for those teaching fraternity members, who prefer administrative work over teaching by securing their attachments in the office.
The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has so far failed to take action against these attached teaching fraternity members and its failure was exposed when the Administrative department issued an order mentioning it as “Most Urgent”, with a list of 27 teaching staff attached at DSEJ. The DSEJ has been ordered by the Administrative department to relieve these attached Masters, Teachers, Lab Technician to their original places of postings with immediate effect.
As per the order vide number Edu-Adm/19/2020 dated 20/07/2020 as list of 27 staff members has been forwarded to the DSEJ by the Additional Secretary to Government School Education department.
The list includes seven Masters who are Govind Sharma, Meenu Sharma, Shanti Swaroop, Gautam Singh, Padam Dev Singh, Sumesh Kumar Vaid, Sujata Bhagat. The list also has 19 teachers, who are Vijay Singh Manhas, Gohar Hafiz Fani, Bharat Bhushan, Deepak Sharma-I and Deepak Sharma-II, Manju Bala, Alka Sharma, Sujata Sharma, Prince Dabgotra, K, Manik, Paviter Singh Chib, Somesh Chander, Ramesh Gupta, Bishan Singh, Sunil Singh, Sadeket Ali, Sanjay Kumar, Samira Mir and Rahul Sharma. One Lab technical is also in the list, who is Neel Kumar.
Though the Director could take a call on the list of the employees, enjoying attachments in the office of Director but due to reasons best known to the chair, it failed and forced the administrative department to issue the order.
Moreover, on several occasions, the representatives of some teaching fraternity organizations have been found showering praises over the Director but none of the Organization had raised a voice over the attachment of these employees which pointed towards the silent support towards these attached staff and exposed the representatives of these organizations.
“The primary task of these teaching staff is to teach the students, for which they were recruited and for doing office or clerical works, the department recruits the clerical staff but instead of taking the services of technical staff, teaching fraternity prefer to do official work, which exposed their academic bankruptcy”, an official said.
It is also believed that it is the first list of the detachments and in the coming days, more such detachment orders would be issued by the Administrative department.
Additional Secretary to Government School Education Department Naseer Ahmad Wani confirmed that the list has been issued by the office, cancelling the attachment of all the teaching staff in the list.
