3 bootleggers arrested with 92 quarters of illicit liquor

JAMMU, July 25: Police have arrested three bootleggers along with 92 quarters of JK Desi whisky in two separate cases from Domana area here.
A police party while performing patrolling duty at Purkhoo, Takku Chak area stopped one person coming from Domana to Purkhoo Camp on his motorcycle bearing registration number JK02S 6354. After seeing the police party the biker tried to return back which alerted the police who chased and caught hold the person.
During his questioning, he disclosed his name Bansi Lal, son of Kantar Chand of Kanachack Jammu and during search of his bag recovered 52 quarters of Desi whisky from his possession. On this a case FIR No.197/2020 u/s 48-A Excise Act stand registered at this P/S Domana against the person.
Meanwhile, in another incident, two persons were arrested along with 40 quarters of Desi whisky from Muthi area.
The duo coming from Domana to Jammu on a scooter bearing regd No JK02W/6026 was apprehended when it tried to escape a police naka. During questioning they disclosed their names Jagdeep Raj s/o Ghara Ram R/o Muthi and Tarseem Lal S/o Sham Lal R/o Muthi, Jammu.
While on searching one box put in the scooter containing 40 Desi whisky quarters was recovered Ml from their possession. On this a case FIR No.198/2020 u/s 48-A Excise Act stand registered at P/S Domana.
