BBSBCC, AIMM hail approval for installing Baba Banda’s statue at Kunjwani

JAMMU, July 25: Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Coordination Committee (BBSBCC) and All India Manhas Mahasabha (AIMM) have welcomed the decision of the J&K Union Territory administration for according approval to install statue of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur at Kunjwani Chowk.
In a joint statement, Comrade Sukhdev Singh and Thakur Harnam Singh Manhas said we are also thankful to Inder Singh, Councilor, and other Councilors for supporting the issue in General House meeting of Jammu Municipal Corporation wherein approval was accorded.
Singh and said Manhas said that the matter for naming the Kunjwani Chowk as Baba Banda Singh Bhadur Chowk and installation of his statue has already been taken since long by the Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Coordination Committee, All India Manahas Mahasabha and Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Foundation. In this regard after recommendation from different quarters, the case was pending with Secretary to Government Housing and Urban Development Department. Moreover, despite the recommendation in the case, no action has been taken by the previous governments. They added that the All India Manahas Baradari vide D.O letter dated 09.02.2015 and dated 23.07.2016 has also taken up the matter with the government.
They warned the self-styled leaders who are creating hurdles and requested them to come together for this issue and also to work for communal harmony, unity, integrity and development of the UT and country.
