Jammu, Sept 18: Amid reports that some influential doctors are not performing their duties due to their political connections, some senior politicians of the UT including that of ruling BJP and opposition leaders are under cloud for sheltering such doctors.
Credible sources said that politicians not only shielding these influential doctors they (politicians) are also supporting some bureaucrats who are unnecessarily interfering in the functioning of health institutes of Jammu, especially Government Medical College.
Credible sources said that teams of senior doctors were constituted to keep a strict watch on Covid situation in Jammu province. These teams consisted of influential doctors, who have political connections and it was all due to their political connections that these influential doctors were rarely performing their duties. Using their political influence some of these doctors have managed their transfers amid pandemic. “Some doctors who have been performing their duties with dedication have raised their anger against such attitudes of these influential doctors at this crucial time when their services are required”, sources said and added that those at the helm of the affairs could not take action against these influential doctors due their political connections.
Credible sources said that some bureaucrats who are interfering in the functioning of the health institutes of Jammu province were also getting support from some BJP leaders, who have a habit of patronizing bureaucrats just to show their own importance. Credible sources said that some dedicated doctors have brought this matter to the Union Home Ministry and some effective action is likely to be taken in coming days to save lives of people in Jammu province. |
